Negan Language May Change For Season 8

Fans of The Walking Dead comic have noticed something lacking in Season 7. Not only was the entire season slow, but Negan was drastically edited. Negan drops way more F-bombs in the comic than on television.

This week, Fear the Walking Dead dropped their first-ever F-bomb. This happened after Nick realized his ranch will soon be taken over by zombies. The late-night episode got past the FCC due to the hour.

So perhaps Negan will be able to be a little more Negan this season.

AMC Approves New Language This Season

Fear the Walking Dead showrunner Dave Erickson said, “You get a specific number of curse words you can say, and then there’s a list of what you can and can’t do. I think it was our script coordinator who told me there was an email had come up.”

Erickson added, “There had been a memo saying we could now say ‘f**k’ twice over the course of an entire season.” This is similar to a PG-13 movie, which is often allowed to drop the F-bomb once.

Some fans are confused by this news because Blu-Ray editions and Netflix may already say more curse words than on television.

Negan About To Be More Negan Than Ever

The biggest news here is that AMC has decided to allow for this to happen on their network. Comedy Central has been doing it for years, but it’s generally after midnight rather than 10 pm.

Based on this news for Fear the Walking Dead, it’s likely that Negan will get to use the word twice. Then again, it could be saved for Rick Grimes. He’s been known to drop the bomb on occasion, but usually just on special editions.

It’s curious what else might be on the list of new approved words. Negan’s language is full of colorful language, so perhaps we’ll see more than ever before. This will likely surprise fans of the AMC series.

If nothing else, our favorite bad guy will keep asking about Father Gabriel’s “sh*tting pants.”

Do you think we’ll hear some new language this season on the show?
