3Mayim Bialik Interviews A Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Model

Mayim Bialik seems to love to interview. She likes to ask different people in different walks of life about their experiences. Perhaps it has to do with her background in neuroscience. This week she took to her blog to interview Sports Illustrated Swimsuit model Hunter McGrady about becoming a plus-size model.

Hunter McGrady

Hunter McGrady is a seasoned model, but she’s new to her niche market. She recently became a size 14-16. She admitted that she has previously been a size 2, and even an 18. Mayim noted that her size is unusual for this issue.

Mayim said, “I grew up with the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue being the most coveted magazine by every boy I knew. Like it or not, it’s the industry standard for bringing beautiful women and beautiful bodies to the forefront of a lot of people’s consciousness…what should be stated is that you are a size 14/16 which is very unusual for SI to feature.”

Mayim asked Hunter what it felt like to be a size two. Her natural stature is much larger. Hunter admitted to starving herself in order to fit society’s beauty standards. She explained that after a while she became sick of it and decided to eat whatever she wanted. Hunter recalled, “And yes, I have tons of stretch marks, but I love them, and to me they’re beautiful, and they make me feel like I’m a woman.”
