The only difference between FIFA 17 and real-life football is that you can’t replace an injured player with someone that has comparable stats. Real life football is way more complicated.

Bad form and injures are the only two things that can ruin a good season. Every team has a group of key players that are vital for making an impact, and winning titles.

But Barcelona is different.

They depend on every player, and every position is key for a successful season. That’s exactly why they have difficulties replacing retired players. The right back position was given to two outsiders, and at the end a player coming from the “Barcelona school” got it.

We’re talking about Sergi Roberto and his ability to perfectly fit and replace Dani Alves. But now that the right back position is an old story, Jordi Alba got injured against Italy.

He came off injured in the 21st minute of the World Cup qualifier against Italy. He was replaced by Nacho, and it looked like Alba injured the muscle strain in his right leg.

This was Alba’s 50th game for Spain, and he scored six goals in his international career so far.

But besides Spain, Alba is a key player for Barcelona as well. He’s quick, he’s great at defending and joining the attack. Let’s just hope his injury is not serious, and he returns to the pitch soon.

Pique talks about his social media presence

Pique is currently one of the best defenders in the world. But besides that, he also likes to use his social media accounts to post provocative content.

“An easy group. In the last 16, Italy’s third [placed team]. In the quarters, Germany’s eighth [placed team]. In the semis, England’s fourth [placed team]. Return leg at home.” – Source.

Pique used his twitter account to describe Madrid’s road to the Champions League final. Pique also talked about Spain and the new coach.

“Maybe now we work on things we didn’t before with Vicente, but that era was unrepeatable and unique.” – Source.

Vicente del Bosque was replaced by Julen Lopetegui as Spain coach.

“Now we are beginning a new era with a new manager. We started well with a win in Belgium and now we want to take a step forward and strengthen the new manager’s ideas.”

He also comment on the draw against Italy.

“They have their own way of playing. They have always been categorised as defensive, but Italian football’s enjoying a rich moment for goal scorers, with teams like Juventus and Napoli generating play and scoring a lot of goals.”

But besides the habit of trolling rivals, Pique is one of the best defenders that Barcelona had in the last 5 years or more.

The only thing he’s missing right now is a reliable CB partner to make sure Barcelona is not making silly mistakes and losing points against teams we usually expect them to win.
