It wasn’t that long ago, when President Trump was harshly criticized for commenting on the growing terrorism threat in Sweden. Sweden’s leadership condemned his remarks and touted that he had grossly mischaracterized the situation. However, since that time several attacks have occurred in the country-with the latest happening on Friday afternoon.

From CNN:

At least two people were killed when a truck was driven into pedestrians on the busiest street in the center of Stockholm, the Swedish Security Service said. A large number of people were injured in the attack, which happened just before 3 p.m. local time on Friday. People were seen fleeing the area in panic.

Police in Stockholm have urged people to stay at home and avoid the city center. Additional Attacks

Former Sweden Prime Minister, Carl Bildt, alluded to the hijacking as becoming the new method of terrorist attacks saying “Steal a lorry or a car and then drive it into a crowd. That seems to be the latest terrorist method. Berlin. London. Now Stockholm.”

Back in February, riots and looting broke out in the city of Rinkerby. In the predominantly migrant community, cars were torched and police were attacked as Swedish natives shuttered with fear inside their homes. The attack happened just hours after the Swedish prime minister and liberal media bashed President Trump’s previous comment on the escalating “migrant violence” in the country.

Just hours before the riots broke out, PM Lofvan held a press conference asserting Trump’s comments were irresponsible saying “I think also we must all take responsibility for using facts correctly, and for verifying any information that we spread.” Perhaps the PM should stop ignoring the facts and start addressing the terrorist threat that so obviously does exist.
