There’s been a lot of confusion over the Trump-Pence ticket’s illegal immigration plan.
The dividing line between democrat and republican has often been the way they interpret immigration. Republicans have often left themselves open to ridicule for not being more sensitive to the human element of immigration.
Donald Trump appeared on Fox News Channel’s Sean Hannity on Tuesday to explain his more focused approach to immigration, and yesterday in his 10 point-plan.
The democrat’s strategy is to set up, and keep, sanctuary cities that hide illegals from American laws. They create the mere appearance of enforcing the law (catch-and-release). All of which of which turns the American dream into a nightmare for disillusioned immigrants. Not to mention it kicks a dent into the prosperity of those trying to enter legally.
In spite of the spin, you might have heard the Trump plan hasn’t changed from day one. It has only expanded as he began to speak to families that have lost children. It has been refined by talking to the boots on the ground patrolling the border.
Just because he is willing to work with tax-paying illegals who want to change their status, doesn’t mean he is willing to give them amnesty. They must still leave and come back in legally.
This mystifies the left. How can someone build a wall, send people who are working back to Mexico, and bring them back?
It’s simple. In fact, it’s elementary.
When you were a kid, were you ever told, when you did something wrong to go back and do it over? This time–to it the way you were told? As in, the right way?
Yeah. It’s like that.
Hannity asked Trump if he would accommodate “law-abiding” undocumented immigrants. Notice how you have to change illegal immigrants to undocumented? Otherwise, it’s an oxymoron “law-abiding illegal immigrants.”
Trump responded with compassion, but his priorities are in the right place.
“…we’re not looking to hurt people, we want people — we have some great people in this country…we’re going to follow the laws of this country. And, you know, what people don’t realize, we have very, very strong laws.”
Donald Trump has also been criticized for using the “slur” anchor baby when he describes children born in the U.S. to illegal immigrants. This is a sad state of affairs for the illegal immigrant. The misconception is that these children will sponsor their parents as they are natural born citizens. However, it is illegal for anyone under the age of 21 to be a sponsor.
It does, however, grant the child all the benefits of our social services, without any cost to the family by way of taxes–incentivized illegal immigration.
The very nature of this law puts families at risk. It offers them the lure of government assistance for their children, for which, the parents really have no rights to. In a heart-wrenching move, these parents risk tearing their family apart with the lure of offering their children a better life.
This is simply, not fair to anyone. It’s a perfect example of how the system only pretends to help, but in fact, is cruel.
It is, however, a great way to deflect the problem they want to keep.
Donald Trump has stated early on in the election cycle,
“We’re going to keep the families together,
but they have to go.”
So, a child born to Mexican parents can simply go home to his or her parent’s native country. Mexico should, if it doesn’t already, grant those children citizenship. Let them come back legally as adults.
The compassion for these families needs to fall into the lap of the Mexican government. Donald Trump is right. Keep the family together–send them all back.
Now, do it again right way and we will accept you with open arms.
