Conservatives are likely unaware they have enemies on the cereal aisle.

The Kellogg corporate members in Battle Creek, Michigan, recently released news that they are not supporting conservative issues. Who knew cereal was political?

Last Tuesday, “Kellogg Co. announced its decision to pull ads from conservative media giant Breitbart.com because its 45,000 monthly conservative readers are “not aligned with our values as a company.” In response, Breitbart News, one of the world’s top news publishers, launched a #DumpKelloggs petition.”

Banning Bigotry from Breakfast

It would appear that Tony the Tiger is a liberal, but while Tony is apparently a cupcake kitten, Breitbart has not lost its roar. In response to the Kellogg news, the website giant decided “to ban bigotry from the breakfast table by boycotting Kellogg’s products.”

News editor-in-chief Alexander Marlow also provided the following statement, “We are fearless advocates for traditional American values, perhaps most important among them is freedom of speech, or our motto, “more voice, not less.”

For those who buy into the name-calling Leftist taunts, it’s funny to see their need to politicize everyone and everything. Does this mean only liberals can enjoy Frosted Mini Wheats, Pringles, or those delicious Eggo Waffles?

What’s Next for the Cereal Brand?

Kellogg’s logic is ridiculous. It’s one thing to do this before an election, but another to do it after the election, with a president-elect already in place. What do they honestly wish to accomplish with such a ridiculous move?

Shouldn’t they also stop selling their brand to companies or individuals who do not agree with their values?

Wal-Mart, among others, is considered a fairly conservative company, so perhaps Kelloggs should stop stocking the mega-conglomerate’s lucrative shelves. Unless, of course, Wal-Mart is going to start checking voter-registration cards for political affiliation along with their entrance greetings.

While Kellogg’s is within their rights to advertise where they please, they need to think about how this will also affect their customers. We can purchase other products and tell our friends and colleagues to do the same. So maybe it’s time to get back to cooked meals and toss out those Honey Bunches of Oats or other Post Cereal breakfast foods.

What do you think about the cereal company’s Leftist move? Are you going to #DumpKelloggs?
