Tech Giants Ban On InfoWars and Alex Jones Is Pure Fascist Censorship

There is a lot not to like about Alex Jones and some of the work published on his InfoWars site. But, as a freedom-loving American citizen, I will defend him without hesitation. Why? Because if we don’t defend Alex Jones we are condoning the fascist censorship tactics of Facebook and the other “Masters of the Universe.”

Yesterday, Silicon Valley speech police decided unanimously to permanently ban Alex Jones from their platforms. First, Apple removed his podcasts. Then, like dominoes falling, Facebook, YouTube, Pinterest, and Spotify followed suit.

The following is part of the statement from Facebook on the ban:

As a result of reports we received, last week, we removed four videos on four Facebook Pages for violating our hate speech and bullying policies…Since then, more content from the same Pages has been reported to us. Upon review, we have taken it down for glorifying violence, which violates our graphic violence policy, and using dehumanizing language to describe people who are transgender, Muslims and immigrants, which violates our hate speech policies.”

Naturally, that statement begs a lot of questions. For instance, who exactly is “reporting” the InfoWars pages? Better yet, what is Facebook defining as “dehumanizing” language? Seriously, is it hate speech to say that transgenderism is a mental health disorder when even experts agree it is?

Truth is, this ban is about censoring out any views that don’t tow the fascist liberal line. It’s not about free speech because these are privately owned businesses. Like it or not, they do have a right to “serve” whomever they please.

However, when you create a business custom tailored to be a place where diverse ideas and opinions converge, you have a responsibility to ensure it’s open to all points-of-view. Yet, as we’ve seen since President Trump took office, that isn’t what’s happening.

In fact, it’s quite the opposite.
