It’s no secret that the VA system is broken. It has been plagued by one scandal after another and our nation’s veterans have been paying the price–again. In January, Trump fired two corrupt VA employees amidst allegations of neglect and fraud. In early February. he met with veterans and health care experts in order to devise a plan to create better health care and improve access to benefits.

Trump has said that he hopes to give veterans more and better choices for receiving the care so many of them desperately need. He is working with world renowned hospitals like the Cleveland and Mayo Clinics to offer care in conjunction with the VA.

The facility issued a statement calling the incident “regrettable” and thanked Hannah McMenamin for caring enough to share what happened. The employee involved has been removed from patient care pending an investigation.
