Let’s Get To Work
If you know anyone who owns a construction business, or even just a person who needs some good news, then you’ll want to share this story. DHS and CBP are officially taking bids on building Trump’s new border wall.
If you have the proper tools, and the right price of course, you can begin submitting proposals electronically on March 6th according to the recent announcement from Homeland Security. The call for bids is listed on the Federal Business Opportunities website:
“The Dept. of Homeland Security, Customs and Border Protection intends on issuing a solicitation in electronic format on or about March 6, 2017, for the design and build of several prototype wall structures in the vicinity of the United States border with Mexico.”
Proposals will be accepted in two-phases. Phase 1 requires a ‘concept paper” of the prototype and Phase 2, by extension, will require a full proposal including cost estimates. According to the site, multiple awards are expected to be given out by mid-April.
We already know of one Mexico concrete company who has offered their services to President Trump. And a Massachusetts Sheriff has offered up inmate labor to help reduce costs. But hundreds, if not thousands of new offers, will likely pour in to help…
Make America Safe Again
The timing of the announcement could not have been better. Last week DHS Secretary, John Kelly, sent a memo outlining Trump’s plans to ramp up efforts to capture illegal immigrants. In addition, WH Press Secretary Sean Spicer briefed the media on the president’s new “VOICE’ office.
The cost to build the new southern U.S.-Mexico border wall is estimated to be between $10 and $25 billion. Either amount of which could easily be paid for by cutting funding to sanctuary cities who refuse to cooperate with immigration officials.
But, regardless of the cost, it will be worth every penny to secure our nation’s borders and protect our most valuable resource –American lives.
