On Tuesday, new reports suggested that North Korea has cleared one of the final hurdles in its quest to strike the United States with nuclear missiles. Pyongyang has conducted several successful intercontinental ballistic tests over the last several months. According to the Washington Post, U.S. intelligence officials assessed that a decade after North Korea’s first nuclear test explosion, the region has produced nuclear weapons for ballistic missile delivery, including by intercontinental missiles. The type capable of reaching the continental U.S.

This revelation all but ensures North Korea will be a full-fledged nuclear power.

Suffice it to say, President Trump did not take the news well. In fact, he issued his most dire warning to Pyongyang yet. Speaking from his golf course in Bedminster, New Jersey, the president sought to match the recent threats of the N. Korean dictator. With First Lady Melania by his side and a stern and resolute look on his face, President Trump sent a clear message.

“North Korea had best not make any more threats to the United States,” said the President. “He has been very threatening beyond a normal state. And as I said they will be met with fire, fury and frankly power the likes of which this world has never seen before.”

The president’s speech sounded much like the one given by President Harry Truman in 1945.

When the atomic bomb was dropped on Hiroshima, Truman warned of “a rain of ruin from the air, the likes of which has never been seen on this earth.” News of the miniaturized nukes and President Trump’s subsequent warning come just days after the U.N. Security Council imposed heavy sanctions on the communist regime.

Consequently, after those sanctions were levied, North Korea warned of “thousand-fold revenge” against the U.S.
