Nancy Pelosi: More People Working Is Not Good For The Middle Class
Unemployment is down, take-home pay is rising, jobs are coming back to home and more Americans are working. That is the news from the May jobs report and Representative Nancy Pelosi couldn’t be angrier. And no, that is not a typo.
The 2018 mid-terms are approaching quickly, and Democrats are scrambling to overcome President Trump and his growing list of successes. Leading the charge is House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi who recently suggested that higher employment numbers are a bad thing.
On Friday, the new jobs report showed payrolls gained 223,000 in May and the unemployment rate hit an 18-year low of 3.8%. The news was so good in fact, that the New York Times “ran out of words” to praise it. However, the “Queen of Crumbs” didn’t quite feel so overjoyed.
“May’s jobs report shows that strong employment numbers mean little to the families hit with soaring new costs under the Republicans’ watch,” Pelosi said in a statement. “The President’s reckless policies are exploding gas prices, wiping out the few meager gains that some families should have received from the GOP tax scam, as wages remain stagnant.”
Now, keep in mind this is the same woman who claimed that the wage increases and $1000 bonuses resulting from the Trump tax plan, are “crumbs” for the middle-class. And, she is also the woman who called an Obama-era $40 payroll tax cut a “victory for the American people.”
The woman who wants to raise taxes on the middle class.
