Peter Thiel faced criticism for supporting Trump. Mark Zuckerberg stood up for Thiel’s right to support whomever in a classic passive-aggressive-leftist sort of way, “There are many reasons a person might support Trump that do not involve racism, sexism, xenophobia or accepting sexual assault.”
The left really can’t stand it when groups they have segregated to call their own, start thinking for themselves. The Republican Party is inclusive, the party of Lincoln–long before blacks were a desirable voting demographic.
Gays for Republicans
Moran said, “This is my Republican Party. This is what I’m here for. This is the candidate I’m here to nominate. The guy who brings somebody like Peter Thiel to the deck and puts him up on stage — that’s my Republican Party. Donald Trump is the best candidate that the LGBT community has ever seen come out of the Republican Party. We see a consistent line from Donald Trump that being pro LGBT and pro inclusion is a good business decision and I believe he’s going to bring that with him in the White House.”
Trump earned credibility with gay Republicans after he made the unique effort to say during his convention acceptance speech that “As your president, I will do everything in my power to protect our LGBTQ citizens from the violence and oppression of a hateful foreign ideology. Believe me. And I have to say, as a Republican, it is so nice to hear you cheering for what I just said. Thank you.”
Moran didn’t expect that from Trump. He explained, “Right after his speech people were starting to text me, ‘What does the ‘Q’ stand for?’ So I said, ‘It’s either queer or questioning’ — an instructional moment. And I like being able to have those with the Republican Party.”
Moran even recognized how Trump allowed a gay member into his Mar-a-Largo. He even publicly supported the marriage between Elton John and David Furnish.

Even though Pence put up anti-LGBTQ laws when he was governor of Indiana, Moran says that he is comfortable with Pence because he’s not running for president. He also mentioned that Pence later amended those laws after meeting with LGBTQ groups.
As a Trump supporter, Moran admits that he hears a lot of opposition from his friends: “The running joke is that it’s so much easier to be gay in the Republican Party than it is to be a Republican in the LGBT community.”

One Hispanic Trump supporter saw Thiel and Trump at that RNC speech, said that he’s faced violence for supporting Trump. He was even attacked by an anti-Trump supporter in San Jose. He said, “I saw a fist come in and hit my nose and my nose just instantly started pouring blood. I do know a lot of Trump supporters that are in the closet in the Bay area and we all have the same fear that we don’t know what can happen to us. I do not want to put a Trump sign out there. And that sucks. It shouldn’t be like that, in that, I should feel fear of putting out a Trump sign and the person who I want to support, of the person that I want to be in office.”
Hernandez also argued that Trump isn’t against Mexicans, rather, he is against illegal immigration.
