Melania Trump Uploaded A “Christmas Selfie” And The Internet Immediately Lost It
Christmas day may be over but that doesn’t mean the joy of the season has to end right away. Like most families, the Trumps took some festive pictures to commemorate the occasion. Then, Melania Trump set the internet on fire with her official First Lady Christmas selfie.
President Trump and Mrs. Trump spent some time on Christmas Eve helping children across the country track Santa through NORAD. After the White House released the photo, the first lady shared it on Twitter.
“@POTUS and I had fun helping children track #Santa tonight,” Melania captioned the picture. “Wishing everyone a wonderful #ChristmasEve.” On Monday morning, the president posted his first Christmas message along with a video.
“In the season of joy, we spend time with our families, we renew the bonds of love and goodwill between our citizens and most importantly we celebrate the miracle of Christmas,” Trump said, before reminding Americans about the meaning of Christmas.
However, despite his beautiful message, Melania managed to upstage her husband. While celebrating at Mar-a-Lago, the first lady took a playful Christmas selfie and posted it on social media.
Favorite First Lady
Using a Snapchat filter, the picture depicts Mrs. Trump wearing a festive Santa-hat with illuminated lighted reindeer. Melania captioned the fun photo with “Merry Christmas” and a Christmas tree emoji. The picture received more than 17,000 re-tweets and was favorited nearly 100k times.
Not surprisingly, the first lady’s favorability skyrocketed over the last few months. She’s taken on a much more visible role since moving to the White House with son Barron over the summer. The most recent Gallup poll revealed a 17-point increase since January.
Of course, it’s not hard to understand why her approval isn’t 100%. The liberal media attacks the first lady for just about everything. In fact, some of their most brutal verbal assaults came during the holiday season.
Nevertheless, based on all the photos she shared during the holidays, we’re guessing there is no Grinch in the world that could steal Mrs. Trump’s joy. And after that selfie, there is no fireman that could put out the blaze either.
