The term “affordable care” in Obama’s Affordable Care Act is an oxymoron. Obamacare is anything but affordable. It also does not offer much in the way of caring for your health either. Soon, Americans will have real choices for their healthcare, at prices they can actually afford. Meet Dr. Tom Price.

From the beginning of his campaign, Donald Trump promised to repeal Obama’s disastrous healthcare policy. His new Secretary of Health and Human Services, Dr. Tom Price, is here to help him do it.

Before becoming Trump’s new Health Secretary, Congressman Price worked in the House, representing Georgia’s sixth district in Atlanta. Prior to being elected to Congress in 2004, Price was the first Republican in Georgia’s history to serve as Senate Majority Leader.

Dr. Price spent twenty years in private practice as an orthopedic surgeon and, he was an Assistant Professor at Emory School of Medicine. It is this lifetime of experience that has made him the go-to Republican in the Senate, for quality healthcare policy.

The Voice of Reason

Congressman Price has made no secret of his feelings about the Obama Administration. He has been a very vocal critic of the President, chastising him over a myriad of issues. In an August, 2016 Op-Ed for the Washington Examiner, Price spoke about the White House policies that are crippling America’s economy stating that:

“Every year, trillions of dollars of hidden taxes are imposed that stifle growth and harm the economy. These taxes are being levied directly by the executive branch, bypassing the American people and their elected representatives in Congress. This frightening tax burden is the cost of new regulations, and it has reached new heights under President Obama”.

In November, Price discussed the failings of Obamacare, specifically citing the enormous rate increases subscribers will be facing in 2017. Some states will see a 25% jump in their premiums, but others face much greater cost increases. Illinois will see rates go up 43% while Oklahoma will see a jaw-dropping 69% increase. Arizona tops the list, with premiums skyrocketing by 115%. But, Price has a solution.

Empowering Patients First Act

H.R. 2300, introduced by Price, will fully repeal Obamacare, and put patient-centered healthcare in its place. As a physician, and representative of the people, Price understands that healthcare choices should be in the hands of individuals, not the Federal government.

In his statement on the Empowering Patients First Act, the Congressman noted:

“With real, patient-centered reforms we can build a more innovative and responsive health care system – one that empowers patients and ensures they and their doctor have the freedom to make health care decisions without bureaucratic interference or influence.”

The Future of America’s Health

More than individuals have suffered under the weight of Obama’s preposterous regulations. Small business have buckled. America as a whole has suffered as well. Together, President-elect Trump and Dr. Tom Price will make our country, and it citizens, happy and healthy again. This is great news!
