After two trials, two days, and 15 hours of deliberation, a Pennsylvania court declared actor and comedian Bill Cosby guilty. Although his lawyers plan to appeal the verdict, the 80-year old Cosby is facing up to 30 years in prison.
Thursday afternoon, victims in the Montgomery County courtroom erupted with sounds of relief and feelings of vindication. A Norristown, Pennsylvania jury of seven men and five women rendered guilty verdicts against Cosby on three counts of aggravated indecent assault.
Back in 2004, Cosby drugged Temple University employee Andrea Constand will three blue pills. Constand then had some wine and then fell unconscious. She subsequently woke up to find Cosby “digitally penetrating and groping her and forcing her hand on his penis,”
Last June, the first trial ended in a hung jury. Cosby, a father of three, viewed the results as a victory. However, shortly after the announcement, District Attorney Kevin Steele vowed to retry the then-79-year old actor. Cosby then pulled out all the stops.
