Classified Intel to Russia
Well, well would you look at that. For days, all we have been hearing about is how President Trump allegedly gave classified intelligence to Russian leaders. Thanks to a sensational headline from the Washington Post, the Trump-Russia story is bigger than ever and Democrats are renewing their calls for impeachment.
The story is trending on social media and liberals everywhere are celebrating the delusion that they were right. Naturally, there is no proof that this happened, as WaPo only cited “anonymous sources.” And, they haven’t bothered to address the vehement denials from the White House and National Security Adviser, H.R. McMaster.
Funny thing is, we don’t remember hearing any of this in 2016 when President Obama actually gave classified intel to Russia-and they even used it against our allies. Even more interesting, is the fact that that story was written by same WaPo reporter, Greg Miller, that wrote this newest Trump hit-piece.
Come to think of it, we didn’t see any tabloid bombshells in 2014, when Obama released the name of a CIA chief in Afghanistan. The Obama administration put his name in a press release, a move that exposed his work and endangered his life. On both of these occasions, the press was…
In terms of hypocrisy, it doesn’t get any better than this. President Trump is scrutinized for how he eats his steak and how many scoops of ice cream he enjoys, while Obama and Clinton are praised as political gods. To be honest, it’s extraordinary to witness. It’s also incredibly foolish for anyone to believe there’s anything going on here beyond a deliberate and well-orchestrated effort to undermine the president.
But, as CNN’s New Day political analyst, Jeff Lord, said-it’s all a “matter of perspective.” Lord took the opportunity on Monday, to remind host, Chris Cuomo, that “we need to find out the facts” and put the situation in the proper context. It is safe to say that we won’t be holding our breath waiting for that to happen. That’s about as likely as the Washington Post recognizing that they are unscurpulous political activists and not reputable journalists.
