First, it was a Mexico concrete manufacturer offering to help President-elect Trump build his wall. Now, Massachusetts Sheriff Thomas Hodgson has come forward to help Trump secure America’s border.

His idea could be a win-win for both taxpayers and inmates.

In an interview with Fox Business, Hodgson noted:

“This is an opportunity for inmates from across the country to be dispatched to the wall where we will be able to not only save tax payers millions of millions of dollars in building it but giving the inmates a chance to do something for America but also learn a skill and prepare themselves for reentry,”

It’s important to note that inmates would not be forced to participate in the project. Nor would they be paid. “The process is completely voluntary but it would give the inmates an opportunity to earn time off their sentences,” according to Hodgson.

Recently, Trump ordered documents associated with constructing the wall.
