Ivanka Trump Set The Tone For Trump’s Speech
According to Reuters, the First Daughter, Ivanka Trump, helped the President “set the tone” for a peace-loving State of the Union Address. Ivanka’s goal was to create a “moderate and peaceful tone” during the speech.
Commentators like Charles Krauthammer confirmed the February 28, 2017 speech was even better than the inauguration. Ivanka toned down some of the Trumpisms that occasionally get the President in trouble with the Leftist media.
Even the New York Times and Washington Post called it “moderate” and “conciliatory.”
Leftist News Said Speech More “Moderate”
According to Reuters, “The tone of speech Trump was far from somber intonations of his inaugural address.” In addition to the tone, Ivanka was also said to help include paid family leave and a few other Left-type ideas.
Paul Ryan, the speaker of the House, invited Trump to speak to Congress but officially, the speech was not a state of the union address. Like other Presidents, it’s a little too early in Trump’s first presidential year for it to officially be a state of the union address.

Trump’s Initial View Of The Union
During the speech, President Trump spoke about his blueprint budget for the military, which will also include “funding for our veterans.” Trump then moved on to violence in America.
“Every American child should be able to grow up in a safe community, to attend a great school, and to have access to a high-paying job. But to create this future, we must work with — not against — the men and women of law enforcement. We must build bridges of cooperation and trust — not drive the wedge of disunity and division,” said the President.
