Matthew McConaughey Urges Hollywood. Hollywood is currently engaged in a culture war with President Trump. The billionaire property tycoon has been the butt of more scathing reprimands and wisecracks from tinsel town actors than any President in recent history. This attains it all the more surprising Matthew McConaughey has gone against the grain and provided a positive perspective on Mr. Trump’s presidency. The Oscar-winning actor, who is known for his roles in Wolf of Wall Street and True Detective, urged Hollywood to “embrace” Mr. Trump.
McConaughey argued Americans should learn to be “constructive” even if they do not agree with the President.
Appearing on the Andrew Marr Show, he was pressed about whether it was time for Hollywood to give the President a break.
In an interview with BBC this week, present host Andrew Marr compared the characters in McConaughey’s new movie “Gold” to” not Trump’s America, but this is small-time, central redneck America sticking one up to the snotty East Coast and the elites .”
” Every single American actor or arty kind who comes over to London dumps on Trump. You all entirely hate him. Do you think it’s day maybe Hollywood or the culture upper-clas of America dedicated this guy a break ,” asked Marr.
He then asked McConaughey if it was time for Hollywood to give the president a break.
” They don’t have a option now ,” McConaughey replied.” He’s our chairman. It’s very dynamic and as divisive of a hour and inauguration as we’ve had, at the same period, it’s time for us to espouse. Shake hands with this fact, be constructive with him over the next four years .”
