A Seat at the Table
First daughter Ivanka Trump, is a star on the rise. Over the last few weeks, she has proven she can hold her own in the fast-paced world of D.C. politics. From sitting in on meetings with Japanese PM Shinzo Abe, to roundtable discussions with Canadian PM Justin Trudeau, she is carving out her own niche on a global stage.
During Trudeau’s visit to the White House, he and President Trump announced the formation of the “Canada-United States Council for Advancement of Women Entrepreneurs and Business Leaders.” An initiative to inspire women spearheaded by Ivanka who noted:
“Women’s empowerment is central to economic growth and job creation.”
Mainstream media touted her presence at the meeting as “inappropriate” suggesting that she had no valid reason for being there.
However, as a successful businesswoman and working mother, she clearly understands the need for women “to have a seat at the table.”
Despite the malicious attacks on her personal brand, Ivanka is continuing to create new ways to advocate for women and girls across the globe. She also has a new book coming out in May titled…
Women Who Work: Rewriting the Rules for Success
An excerpt from her forthcoming book highlights the many dimensions of women in the 21st century:
“Our grandmothers fought for the right to work. Our mothers fought for the choice to be in an office or to stay at home. Our generation is the first to fully embrace and celebrate the fact that our lives are multidimensional. Thanks to the women who came before us and paved the way, we can create the lives we want to lead—which look different for each of us.”
The future is looking bright for Ivanka Trump. And all roads lead straight to the Oval Office.
