Some will be surprised. Losing the election did not give Hillary Clinton a safe pass from at least four congressional probes into her personal email use and mishandling of classified information.

Not Dependent On Election Result

Two Republican senators told Fox News that the ongoing proves covering allegations that Clinton lied to the Congress regarding her email customs in October 2015, and that government records were destroyed are not dependent on the election’s outcome.

“I still don’t have the information I need,” Sen Ron Johnson, R-Wis., told Fox News. He is the chairman of the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee.

“I think it’s one of the messages of this election that the public is disgusted when they see double standards, when they think people in high places, high government officials, can get away with what ordinary citizens can’t,” Johnson added.

He said that because of these reasons, it is an imperative to finish the information, and make the information available to the public.

A spokesperson for Senate Judiciary Chairman Charles Grassley, R-Iowa, said that answers are what drives the whole investigation, and not the political calendar.

“Senator Grassley has always followed inquiries through to their logical end, until he feels he’s received the answers he needs to be able to satisfy the questions he posed on the public’s behalf. He performs oversight regardless of which party holds the White House, just as he initiates oversight inquiries irrespective of politics,” the spokesperson said.

House To Conduct Separate Probes From Senate

Pending investigations are present in both the House judiciary and government oversight committees. They are reportedly looking at the validity of a deal between a State Department Executive and an FBI official, reviewing email over-rides beyond classified status, and digging into possible exchanges for aspired slots at bureau locations abroad.

“We still have some questions because [Comey’s] latest letter narrowed the scope of their investigation to the time that she was Secretary of State, but we’re also interested in what happened before and what happened after that. It’s this huge … mess that has to be cleaned up. So we would be remiss if we just dismiss it and move on,” Oversight Chairman Jason Chaffetz, R-Utah, said.

Sources also indicated that loose ends over the FBI probe into the Clinton Foundation must be resolved.

Some committee requests for the State Department are over a year old, congressional sources say.

“[The requests] go back probably about a year. I’ve asked for information on who else, what other high-level administration officials were engaged in these emails,” Johnson said.

Sanders: Failure Goes Beyond Emails

Clintons former rival, Democratic party presidential nominee Bernie Sanders told CBS’ This Morning that Clinton’s failure goes far beyond the email mishandling.

This is following Clinton’s conference with top donors where she blamed FBI Director James Comey for her defeat. She said that Comey’s decision to reopen the email case before the election blunted her ability to make a strong closing statement.

It can be recalled that Comey announced two days before the election that he stands with the first decision to free Clinton of criminal charges regarding the emails.

“It’s not a question of what happens in the last week,” Sanders told Charlie Rose. “The question is she should have won this election by 10 percentage points. The question is why it is millions of white working-class people voted for Obama, turned their backs on the Democratic Party.”
