Thank You Mr. President
Photo Credit: chicksontheright.com Whether or not Americans agree on President Trump’s decision to retaliate for the chemical attack in Syria-Syrians are overjoyed at his response. After the airstrike, Clinton took to her bully pulpit to attack Trump’s refugee policies once again. And, CNN tried to bait a 2013 gas attack survivor into calling him a hypocrite. But, he “dropped the mic” on both of them.
CNN host, Brooke Baldwin, interviewed Kassem Eid, who is a survivor of the 2013 Sarin gas attack in Syria. Eid told Baldwin his most painful memory of that time was not the attack itself-it was Obama’s failure that troubled him the most:
“I can say with all truth that the most painful memory about that attack was watching President [Barack] Obama failing to fulfill his promise about [crossing] the red line.”
However, Eid’s feelings this time around were completely different. Baldwin seemed a bit shocked when Eid told her that he was incredibly happy about Trump’s response. He said he was “overwhelmed” and “grateful” for both President Trump and the United Sates.
Eid’s response was not enough however, to dissuade Baldwin from asking him about America’s refugee ban. Needless to say, she was floored by his comment that most Syrians want to…
Stay in Syria

Baldwin told Eid that President Trump is “a man who doesn’t want Syrians coming into this country,” and then she tried to convince him that Hillary Clinton was more supportive of refugees. She played for Eid, a clip of Hillary bashing the hypocrisy of Trump’s refugee ban. Let it just suffice to say, her plan backfired spectacularly. Speaking directly to Hillary’s remarks, Eid said:
“I didn’t see you in 2013 when 1,400 people were gassed to death. I didn’t see you raising your voice against President Obama’s inaction in Syria that led us refugees– that made us refugees, get kicked out of Syria. If you really care about refugees, if you really care about helping us, please. Help us stay in our country. We don’t want to come to the United States. We want to stay in our country.”
The look on Baldwin’s face was priceless. Hillary and CNN will definitely need some bandages after that burn.
