It’s another day, and another criminal investigation is linking Democrats to deviant behavior. The federal government recently seized a website for alleged sex trafficking crimes. The site’s owners made lots of donations to top Democrats, including Nancy Pelosi and Hillary Clinton.
Last Friday, a law enforcement investigation involving the FBI and other agencies resulted in the U.S. government shutting down backpage.com. Authorities are accusing the owners of the site of “facilitating sex crimes and promoting underage prostitution.”
A banner on the website explains the seizure, saying “backpage.com and affiliated websites have been seized as part of an enforcement action by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the U.S. Postal Inspection Service, and the Internal Revenue Service Criminal Investigation Division, with analytical assistance from the Joint Regional Intelligence Center.”
According to Reuters, the same day the feds closed the site, authorities showed-up to the home of Michael Lacey, the founder of backpage.com. The website has affiliates (or rather had affiliates) across the country. The New York Times estimated their annual revenue to be $135 million.
Not surprisingly, tens of thousands of their profits went to support Democrats.
