Transform Into A Proud Hero By Becoming The Owner Of A Rescue Dog Near You

Become a hero by becoming a pet owner of a rescue dog near you. There are generally three ways a dog finds itself at a shelter: their owner abandons them, natural disaster, or animal control finds them wandering the streets unattended. Whether through adoption, volunteering, or donating, becoming a hero is easier than ever.

Be a Hero to a Rescue Dog Near You

Even heroes need rescuing

We all have a role to play, so why not play the part of the hero? In most cases, being someone’s hero doesn’t require leaping over buildings. The role of hero usually amounts to you positively affecting the life of another.

This is the kind of hero shelters across America are in desperate need of. There is nothing more rewarding than to be able to positively affect the life of another. We all have the ability to be a hero and there is a rescue dog near you just waiting to be saved.

There has never been a better time than now to make the commitment to become a hero and save a life. When we look at the latest ASPCA statistical data, there are approximately 3.3 million rescue dogs entering shelters in the U.S. nationwide every year.

No Better Time Than Now to Become a Hero

This puppy’s superpower is cuteness.

These are shocking statistics, but the shock does not stop there. It is approximated that 670,000 of the reported 3.3 million rescue dogs are actually euthanized every year. That is almost three-quarters of a million lives needlessly extinguished. We can do better, we must do better.

There are countless opportunities for each and every one of us to have a chance to make a difference. These animals need our help and they deserve our help. The millions of homeless dogs found each year did not get there without our help. So, at the very least, they shouldn’t have to find their way off the streets by themselves either.

We Need to Put the Human back into Humane

Humane is what being human is all about.

We have the power to avert two of these scenarios and it starts with each and every one of us taking a stance towards making a difference. So many pet owners undertake this responsibility before understanding what goes into being a pet owner.

There are free resources out there that can provide you with the knowledge to be a better pet owner or become one for the first time. The number of homeless animals outnumbers homeless humans 5 to 1 and this number keeps increasing.

There is always at least one pet shelter near your neighborhood and this is a perfect place to start. Making a difference in another living beings life is easier than you might think. It can also be very gratifying even if you are not an animal lover. There are always other ways you can help these shelters carry this enormous financial burden. These organizations are generally non-profit and depend solely on donations and volunteers to continue their day to day operations.

All it takes to make a positive difference in another’s life is a little of your time and or a small financial contribution. However, it all starts with caring.

We are all humans and it is time for us to all act a little more humane by showing these adorable animals that we can do better. Who knows, you just might find your new best friend.
