They’re a Hollywood power couple who’s had their fair share of struggle. But on his 50th birthday, Keith Urban couldn’t have received a sweeter message than Nicole Kidman delivered.

“Baby Daddy”

Kidman and Urban aren’t shy about showing their affection for each other. Whether it’s on the red carpet or when she’s by his side on stage, the chemistry is undeniable.

Married since 2006, they have two daughters, 9-year old Sunday Rose and 6-year old Faith Margaret. On Urban’s October 26th birthday, Kidman took the opportunity to share on Facebook, her feelings about superstar husband.

“Happy birthday to my husband, best friend, lover, baby daddy and the greatest man in the world. We are so lucky that you are ours. Love you from Nicole Mary, Sunday Rose & Faith Margaret xx.” Along with her message, she posted the black and white photo seen above.

It’s especially touching given the struggles the couple has overcome in their marriage.

Urban: “Very, very blessed.”

Just four months after the couple was married (following a lightning-fast courtship), Urban entered rehab. In a Rolling Stone interview, he acknowledges that Nicole was the one who intervened to get him to go.

“I was very, very blessed to have [Kidman] call an intervention on me,” he said. “I had a tight group of friends around me for the intervention. And off I went. Meeting [Kidman] and falling in love with [her] and starting a relationship with [her] became—I realize now in hindsight—my sobriety.”

But even after settling into married life after rehab, Urban admitted to Hits Daily Double that he still had much to figure out.

“I had such a learning curve in our marriage! When she’d get scared, I’d think she was angry; then I’d get defensive, go tearing out the driveway at 90 miles an hour … ” he said. “What she needs, and it’s in the song, is for me to stay, to be close, to hear her. That’s what she needs, and I had to learn it.”

It seems that he did. And from the looks of it, she feels just as blessed as he.
