Reba McEntire appreciates two things: faith and family. And both are part of her latest record, Sing It Now: Songs of Faith and Hope. As part of the project, McEntire collaborated with several artists. One of them was a family gospel group known as The Isaccs. The group is reminiscent of McEntire’s early singing life with her own family. And hearing McEntire sing with The Isaacs is so beautiful that even she was brought to tears.
Reba McEntire began her singing career with her brother and sister. Together the trio formed the Singing McEntires. The three created beautiful family harmony that was a perfect backdrop for gospel music. So it wasn’t surprising that when she decided to do a faith-based record that she included another family harmony.
The Isaacs are a family gospel group from Hendersonville, Tennessee. According to their website, “the vocalists are mother Lily Isaacs and siblings Ben Isaacs, Sonya Isaacs Yeary and Rebecca Isaacs Bowman. Playing their own acoustic instruments and joined by other band members, The Isaacs have a unique style that blends tight family harmony with contemporary acoustic instrumentation that appeals to a variety of audiences.” According to Rare Country, the group “have been recording for more than two decades, and they recently picked up their first Grammy nomination in the Best Roots Gospel Album category for their latest release, “Nature’s Symphony in 432.”
