Tim McGraw and Faith Hill just amped up their on-stage chemistry to burning hot. The pair regularly perform sultry country music duets. But at a kickoff concert in South Carolina, the two electrified their audience by busting out the famous George Michael and Aretha Franklin R&B duet, “I Knew You Were Waiting”.
“I Knew You Were Waiting”
The concert was the kickoff for the couple’s famous Soul2Soul tour. And given the hype about the tour, there was no way McGraw and Hill were going to let their audience go without being completely electrifed.
The song began with the pair standing on opposite ends of the stage, each under their own spotlight. And though fans had no idea what songs would escape their mouths, no one was prepared for the jaw-dropping R&B hit. Originally done by George Michael and Aretha Franklin, “I Knew You Were Waiting” is an incredibly fun, exciting song. Probably why it both won a Grammy and gave the original artists a No. 1 hit.
Having A Blast
As Tim McGraw and Faith Hill sang, the pair were serenading each other as much as the audience. As they moved further into the track, the stage lit and on a giant screen behind them, you could see each of the artist close-up. They were clearly having a blast. As their pitch-perfect lines flowed, the pair moved closer to each other.
Tim McGraw Kept His Faith
It was a perfect way to start the night. First, they completely excited the crowd, who gave a standing ovation and thunderous applause. Second, the lyrics perfectly represent their relationship, right down to Hill’s name. “Somehow I made it through the heartache / Yes I did. I escaped. / I found my way out of the darkness / I kept my faith (I know you did), kept my faith.”
No doubt Tim McGraw and Faith Hill will continue to provide hair-raising, electrifying performances throughout their tour this year. We can’t wait to see them.
