Why Miranda Lambert Is So Difficult To Work With

The reunion of the Pistol Annies has brought to light some interesting insights about group member Miranda Lambert. Lambert is consistently the source of gossip and rumor. And that’s in no small part due to her ever-volatile love life. But it turns out, her fellow Pistol Annies bandmates, Ashley Monroe and Angaleena Presley also have a few things to say about the sassy Texan.

Pistol Annies’ History

The Pistol Annies first went to the top of the charts in 2011 with their full-length album Hell on Heels. The title track of the album became their signature track and rather the anthem of the group. The lyrics are about the three women taking men for their money–men who generally aren’t “up to no good.” And for Lambert, the group was anything but a side project.

In 2013, the trio produced a second album, Annie Up. Like their first album, this one was full of songs about drinking, sex, and singing the blues. And mixed into that are also several songs that celebrate sweetness and love. The group spent some time touring, and then they went quiet.

There were several reasons. The group each had their own solo music to focus on–particularly Lambert. Miranda spent considerable time on her double-album, The Weight of These Wings. That album was not only huge but hugely emotional. She repeatedly described it has her side of the story in her divorce from Blake Shelton. That album also produced two tours, the current one being her Livin’ Like Hippies tour.

And one of the great surprises of that tour has been a reunion of the Annies.
