After a while, you just have to get the kids outside. They’re getting cabin fever, not sure what to do with their energy, and you’re about to lose it. We’ve all been there.

But of course, you don’t lose it because you’ve got it all together. Here are some things that hopefully help with the kids.

Why didn’t we think of this earlier? Put some watercolor paint in a water gun and set up an easel. Point the kids’ barrels at that easel and let them go crazy. They’ll make masterpieces.

  • Ice cube trays or similar

This one requires hand painting, which to make a guaranteed mess.

It’s simple: paint a plastic table with your hands, press a piece of paper or canvas onto your table design then lift it up. Voila! You have beautiful abstract art. Find more details here.

Do you see a theme here? Paint is a fantastic way to have fun with the kids and let them express their creativity. Telling your kids that they should go paint the trees is sure to prompt an interesting response from them.

All you have to do is wrap bubble wrap around a tree, then paint the bubble wrap. They’re bound to have fun popping the bubbles too!

This involves linguine, chocolate pudding, and a finished product that looks like worms in the mud. It’s a way to satiate your child’s desire to play in the mud and feed them dinner at the same time — two birds with one stone, amirite?
