Too much stress means it’s time to take control. If you seriously dread going into the workplace each day and find that your hours of work seem to become longer, and your lunch break gets shorter and shorter, you need to take stock of your situation. How stressed are you?
There will be many reasons as to why you feel stressed. You may not enjoy the work and it is deadly dull and yes, that can bring its own set of pressures. You may find that you don’t really fit in with your colleagues, there is conflict and you definitely don’t get along with your power-mad boss. If you are secretly nodding, then, know this, stress has the power to make you ill.
It’s true to say that most people feel stressed in their work roles at some point. But, usually, these are fluctuating stressful elements where deadlines must be met or, where there are new challenges to overcome. But, the problems really start when stress on a day to day basis becomes chronic. This means stress is a constant and there is little respite from the pressures. This is harmful to your physical health but affects emotional health too.
