The Allowance Evaporation
On the past episode of The Big Bang Theory, Sheldon and Amy had their first fight since cohabitating. The Allowance Evaporation follows how the two love birds handle a delicate situation. So what exactly made Amy so mad in the first place? And do you agree with how she felt?
Things started out calmly enough. Penny and Sheldon were out to dinner for date night, when they ran into Bert. Bert was waiting to meet a date from an online dating website, but when she doesn’t show up Sheldon invites him to join him and Amy.
Penny and Sheldon were out to dinner for date night, when they ran into Bert. Bert was waiting to meet a date from an online dating website, but when she doesn’t show up Sheldon invites him to join him and Amy. Amy’s impressed with Sheldon’s ability to deduce Bert’s sadness.
However, the feeling of impressed quickly turns to anger.
Bert lets it slip that he knows all about Amy and Sheldon’s sex life or lack thereof. This is news to Amy, who is immediately shocked. We have to admit; we would be too. When Amy asks who Sheldon has told, he replies, “I only told Leonard, Howard, Raj, Kripke, uh, Professor Wu, Professor Klein, and a lunch lady in the cafeteria.”
Yeah, we’re pretty sure we would not be cool with that. A boyfriend who gloats brags and divulges intimate details should not be trusted.
However, we have to admit that we do sympathize with Sheldon. He’s new to dating and didn’t mean to do anything malicious…
How They Handle It
Sheldon and Amy handle this first fight pretty well. Sheldon admits he didn’t understand what was meant to be private and what is not. He does the most Sheldon–like thing ever and draws a Venn-diagram to show what is appropriate to share and what’s not. Aw. So romantic.
Well, at least Sheldon tries to make up for his mistakes. Ladies– would you forgive a boyfriend who blabbed about intimate bedroom details?
