Willie Robertson recently revealed that the coolest part of his Duck Dynasty fame was getting to meet fellow celebrities. Here’s what he and wife Korie Robertson had to say about their entire reality TV experience.
Willie Robertson Loves To Meet Celebrities
Now that Duck Dynasty has been over for a while, Willie Robertson and family have had time to reflect on their whirlwind reality TV experience. The family from Louisiana quickly acquired a great deal of fame. Their show thrust them into the limelight, and changed their lifestyle quite a bit.
Willie told UsWeekly that his favorite perk of the job was getting to meet fellow celebrities. When asked what the best part of fame is, Willie replied, “Getting to meet people I look up to, whether they’re athletes, musicians, actors or politicians. You get to have a quality conversation and learn what’s cool about their life.”
Korie Robertson agreed that meeting lots of people was a big highlight. However, she also noted she enjoys the philanthropic trips. “We’ve visited children’s hospitals to be with dying kids who had a wish to meet us,” Korie recalled.
Willie’s favorite celebrity encounter might shock you a bit. The conservative father of six is notorious for his Republican politics. He famously endorsed Donald Trump last presidential election. However, he told UsWeekly, his favorite celebrity meeting was with former President Obama. He said, “President [Barack] Obama said he watches the show on Air Force One. We got such a kick out of that!”
After Duck Dynasty
Since the show’s cancellation Willie Robertson has taken a step back from public life. Though both his wife and Sadie have spoken about President Trump’s actions in the press, his opinion has been notably absent. The Duck Dynasty couple said that they would like to travel post production. Korie would even like to go to Italy. Willie has also written a book, and continues to be a public speaker.
