Fans Are Hooked On Dead

Fifteen million viewers are hooked on The Walking Dead. Season 7 ended with Alexandria, Hilltop, and the Kingdom coming together to temporarily fight off the Saviors, while Negan headed back to the Sanctuary to round up the troops.

There’s already been a few hints that Glenn may appear in a cameo in Season 8, but what else is going to happen as Negan’s War begins? With six months for fans to speculate, it’s always best to start with the comics.

Showrunner Scott Gimple just revealed they doing the “book.”

Seeing The Time Jump On Screen

“We’re doing the book, we do all sorts of variations on it, and then we do things that are inspired by it and then we change things up with a remix,” said Gimple. “But I will say there are things that happen in that time jump that are referred to that are super interesting.”

This means that there are some things that get skipped over in the comic that might play on screen when the show returns. This could mean that Maggie might have her baby, Glenn could appear in a flashback, and Carol’s romance with Ezekiel is a possibility as well.

Perhaps the most talked about reveal will be when the Whisperers arrive.

The Whisperers Bring New Threat

In the comic, the Whisperers do not arrive until after Rick’s War is already over, but they could come sooner on AMC. The idea in the comic is that Rick wins the war with Negan, but as soon as they find peace, another threat arrives.

On AMC, there’s usually a preview of things to come, such as the foot we saw that led to the Heapsters or a bat that could have been Lucille much earlier than we ever met Negan and the Saviors.

For the Whisperers, this could mean a walker herd moving nearby.

Do you think we’ll see the Whisperers before Season 9 of The Walking Dead?
