Daryl Dixon, The Undisputed Fan Favorite

It’s insane to think that Daryl Dixon wasn’t written for The Walking Dead. Thankfully, Norman Reedus arrived to audition for Merle Dixon, blew everyone away, and has continued to do so for seven seasons on AMC.

Dixon’s attitude and crossbow quickly placed him as one of the top characters on the show. He’s absolutely beloved by fans and the actor makes sure to always take the time to speak with fans and sign autographs when he gets the chance.

In honor of Daryl Dixon, these are some of his best quotes.

Nothing, Nobody, And A Lucky Day

Daryl has some real humdingers, but these are our all-time favorites:

“You want to know what I was before all this? I was nobody. Nothing.”

This line is somewhat heartbreaking, but it shows how Daryl Dixon finally found his place in this world.

“Today’s your lucky day, fellas. You’ve been pardoned by the state of Georgia, you’re free to go.”

This line shows Daryl Dixon’s personality as he aims a crossbow at a few convicts he doesn’t quite trust.

Daryl’s Loyalty And Badassness

Whether you love his loyalty or his badassness, Daryl is here to stay:

“I ain’t going to have your first drink be no damn Peach Schnapps.”

This line occurs when Daryl and Beth are out on their own, not long before she’s taken to the hospital. Daryl seems to view Beth as a sister, which means he’ll do anything to help her.

“I’m gonna stomp your ass!”

Sometimes, you just need to say it like it is. In this scenario, way back in the first season, Rick has to hold Daryl back before he prepares to “stomp some ass.” It shows Daryl’s redneck side, but that’s how fans like it.
