Last week, on our Facebook Live recap, several fans chimed in to give suggestions about how the Carl Grimes bite could be a hoax. One involves an elder zombie, while the others will ignite the series into a new level of evil.

Let’s start with the “denture theory.” Fans have hit the rewind button a few times to take a closer look at the walker that bit Carl Grimes. During the Saddiq fight, fans pointed out that it’s possible the elder walker was actually wearing dentures.

In terms of the flu-like symptoms, he could just be sick or exhausted. But, this isn’t our favorite fan theory to save Carl Grimes.

After Rick Grimes escaped from the Scavengers, he brought his new ally with him to the Sanctuary. To his surprise, he found out that the zombies were no longer surrounded the enemy grounds and a sniper had been killed.

The dead water tower sniper was hanging upside down on the ladder while walkers ate him. But, if you looked closer, you could also see that this victim had his face removed like in Silence of the Lambs.

Fans of the comic book know that this is the first sign of the Whisperers.

The Fan Effort To Save Carl Grimes

Rick Grimes’ next enemy will be the Whisperers. These villains wear the skin of the dead and walk around like walkers. They “whisper” to one another to avoid being seen by other living survivors.

If there are whisperers already on the show, it’s possible that a whisperer bit Carl Grimes. Again, this is somewhat of a stretch, but it’s not impossible. Since we haven’t seen these characters yet, we can’t completely guess how they operate.

From their point of view, it’s possible that a lone whisperer was walking around in the woods when it saw Carl and Saddiq killing walkers. In order to play the part, it may have tried to get close enough to kill Carl, or even bit him.

Fans are dying to discover a way that Carl Grimes will survive this bite on the torso. The only other possibility will be that Carl is actually immune to the walker outbreak.

Do you think any of these possibilities might make their way to AMC?
