Carol wakes up in the middle of the night because something doesn’t add up about Daryl’s story. She’s curious why Jesus brought Rick Grimes and the gang to the Kingdom, and she believes something horrible happened that Daryl withheld.

This leads to Carol heading back to the Kingdom to ask Morgan the truth. After she kills a few walkers at the gate and tells Benjamin she doesn’t want to train him, she finally finds Morgan working in his room.

Morgan turns to Carol, but holds his ground.

“They wanted to see if we could all start working together on things,” replied Morgan, to Carol’s question of why Rick visited the Kingdom. “Daryl said they beat them back in Alexandria — is that true?” pried Carol again.

Morgan wants to keep the peace, so he replied, “You need to talk to Daryl about that. You wanted me to keep the whole story about you from everybody. Told me not to say where you were and I did what you asked…”

“Daryl didn’t find you because of me,” concluded Morgan.

At this point in the conversation, Carol knows that something happened but she doesn’t know what it was. Morgan sticks to his guns, adding, “What was said between you and him, was said between you and him.”

Morgan doesn’t want to tell Carol the truth so he tells her to find Daryl for himself. However, despite her actions of coming full force to the Kingdom to find Morgan, she gets another chance to avoid the truth and she takes it.

Later in “Bury Me Here,” Benjamin gets shot and they take him to her home to try and save him. Carol is at home when they arrive, so she clearly went back to her hideaway rather than going to look for Daryl and the truth.

She didn’t go look for Daryl because she changed her mind and decided she didn’t want to know the truth because it will change her. At the end of the episode, Morgan has changed and he tells her the truth.

Now, both characters are re-entering their warrior states.

Do you think Carol and Morgan will struggle too much to fight?
