Jeffrey Dean Morgan Talks Negan:
Jeffrey Dean Morgan came to The Walking Dead with a vengeance. As Negan, he arrived at the end of Season 6 and left audiences with a major cliffhanger.
When Season 7 returned, however, even more fans were upset at what happened.
In the premiere, Negan took the lives of both Abraham and Glenn, both in brutal fashion. Not only did he keep his promise by killing Abraham, but then he also bashed in Glenn’s head after Daryl raised up against him.
Some fans left the show due to Negan’s violence.
Morgan Talks Playing Dual Roles
“I play a character named Negan and if you’re a fan of the comic, most fans know who Negan is,” said Jeffrey Dean Morgan to Seth Meyers. “That’s the real deal. He’s a game changer. It’s a complete 180 of what I’m doing on The Good Wife.”
“As an actor, it’s a dream come true,” said Morgan. “I get to be the biggest ass in the world. When I took The Walking Dead [my mother] said what does this mean for The Good Wife?”
Morgan’s mom is more into The Good Wife than The Walking Dead, clearly.
“Negan Loves His Bat” Said Morgan
USA Today writes:
“Negan loves this bat,” Morgan explains in an interview just hours after his character was seen bashing in heads with the barbed-wire-wrapped club on the seventh-season premiere of AMC hit The Walking Dead (Sundays, 9 ET/PT). Lucille is “part of who he is and who he’s become in this apocalyptic world, and you’ll never see Negan without her,” he says.
“It’s a little bit of a love story.” For all that love, however, Morgan anticipated hatred coming his way after the zombie drama’s much-anticipated return, which snared 17 million same-day viewers, a two-year high, and complaints about shocking carnage.”
