WATCH: Daryl Dixon’s Frankenstein Motorcycle Designed With Norman Reedus In Mind

Daryl’s Dixon Frankenstein Bike

Before fans saw the new Walking Dead Season 8 trailer, we got a quick look at Daryl’s Dixon’s bike, which appears to be battle ready. After all, Daryl has lost his bike and motorcycle more than once, so he’s not likely to give it up again.

The custom bike Daryl Dixon drives on The Walking Dead is very unique. In terms of the storyline, Daryl found various parts back in Season 5, Episode 14, where he made a “Frankenstein” bike, using spare parts.

Season 8 will feature this bike, rather than the chopper he began the show with.

The Inquisitr writes:

“Norman Reedus rode a vintage Triumph custom chopper in Season 1 of The Walking Dead. Though the bike really had a 1965 -1970 Triumph Bonneville engine, the chopper also sported a Yamaha XS650 frame. In a much less drastic way, Daryl Dixon’s first bike was a Frankenstein as well, with a British engine and a Japanese frame, according to Her Majesty’s Thunder.”

Dixon’s bike was designed by John Ryland, who began the company Classified Moto. Norman Reedus recommended Ryland for the project and the duo hit it off while discussing the bike for the iconic character.

“Norman’s the best,” began Ryland.

John Ryland revealed, “Norman’s the best. Very enthusiastic, straightforward and down to earth—despite millions of fans watching his every move. During one of our conversations, he said he had something in the works that was going to blow my mind. A week later, he introduced me to Scott M. Gimple.”

Not long after, Ryland’s team started working on Daryl Dixon’s new bike. The Donor Bike was a 1992 Honda CB750 Nighthawk, with the front wheel of a Yamaha YZF-R6 and tires from Kenda Big Block.

Reedus’ bike also features a custom crossbow mount on the back.
