Fans have been waiting for this moment for years. Despite the many interactions where the creators said the two shows wouldn’t cross over, The Walking Dead will, in fact, crossover with Fear the Walking Dead.

“There is one character that is going to go from one show, that I will not name, to another show, that I will not name,” said Robert Kirkman. “This is a huge event in the world of The Walking Dead,” he confirmed.

“Huge” might even be an understatement. Fans are pumped.

The biggest fan theory around these two shows is the “Rick Grimes sister theory.” Fans believe that Kim Dickens character, Madison Clark, is actually Rick Grimes sister within the undead universe.

After she confirmed that she grew up in the South, despite her California demeanor, fans got to thinking. In the comic book, Rick Grimes does have a brother who survived the outbreak, but his whereabouts are unknown.

In an effort to confuse fans, Rick’s AMC sister could follow his brother’s comic storyline.

Who Might Crossover To The Other Side?

How and when the two shows will cross over is undetermined. In the past, Robert Kirkman has said that the shows will not crossover anytime soon. This is mainly due to a time lapse between the two.

Fear the Walking Dead exists around the moment of the outbreak. The Walking Dead occurs much later. Even in the first season, Rick Grimes awoke much later after the outbreak occurred, due to the protection of the hospital.

It’s also possible that the show could cross in a different way. Since the two shows are experimenting with time (even moving non-linear on occasion), the crossover also could mean featuring a deceased TWD character on FTWD.

If that happens, fans’ heads might explode. Can you imagine seeing Glenn Rhee arrive somewhere in Fear the Walking Dead before he ever met Rick Grimes in Atlanta? Sure, this isn’t likely, but it’s not impossible, given this new information.
