There is no show on television that does more teases than The Walking Dead. In the past week, they’ve dropped a Season 8B synopsis and some new key art, but both are more summarizing than revealing.

As the show moves from “All Out War” to “The Last Stand,” the series is apparently going to focus on Rick Grimes, Daryl Dixon, and Michonne. Daryl has his crossbow, Michonne has her katana, and Rick is holding his python and his hatchet.

The real question is, the last stand for whom?

In terms of our dead and dying count, both Carl Grimes and Father Gabriel are at the top of the list. But sickness and bites aside, there’s no one that is really safe on the zombie drama.

In the latest two images, our heroes are preparing for battle and there’s also a standoff between Rick Grimes and Negan. More than likely, the next standoff will happen at Hilltop, since it’s really the only community left.

Since Maggie has her POWs, Negan shouldn’t try to simply burn it down like he did with Alexandria.

The official synopsis reads, “All-out war has had a devastating impact on every person involved. The communities themselves are fractured. Alexandria has been destroyed, the Hilltop finds themselves pinned, and the Kingdom is shattered — half of them dead, the other half controlled by the Saviors.”

The rest of the “synopsis” is also just a summary of events. Rick is distracted, Carl got bitten, Aaron and Enid are captured, Dr. Carson and Gabriel are headed to safety, and Eugene is still in some sort of grey area.

So all we really have to go by is this key art. It looks typical in nature, but Rick Grimes is doing his famous scream. The only time we’ve ever seen Rick yell like this is when he’s yelling for his son, Carl (Coorrraaallll).

Whatever he does next, he’s doing it for his son.
