Avi Nash Joins The Walking Dead
According to various sources, actor Avi Nash will be joining the world of the undead when The Walking Dead returns. Currently, AMC hasn’t confirmed who he’ll be playing, but fans suspect he’ll be Abbud, the new Muslim-American character.
The description read, “Abbud, an innately likable Muslim-American whose nerves are, let’s say, jangled because he’s flown solo for too long in zombieland.” Other sources believe this character will be similar to the comic character, Siddiq.
Some casting calls even provide fake names for actors.
Abbud / Siddiq, The New Guy
TV Guide reports:
“Comicbook.com suspects that Abbud is based on a character from the comics named Siddiq (or may even be Siddiq, considering casting calls often use fake character names), who was a survivor from the Oceanside colony.”
“The character would necessarily be different on the show since Oceanside was introduced earlier than its comics counterpart and is inhabited exclusively by women because the Saviors massacred all the male residents. In the comics, he lives at Alexandria and becomes romantically involved with Rosita.”
Possible Survivor From Oceanside
Some believe that Abbud will turn out to be a lone survivor from the men who once lived in Oceanside. He may have survived the attack or simply fled when things got bad, not sure if his people survived or not.
Then again, he could be an entirely new character to the world. After all, since Jesus promised Rick his world was about to get bigger, it certainly has. It seems like Rick meets a new group every other episode in Season 7 of the show.
Nash’s role on The Walking Dead will likely be one of his prominent roles so far in his short career. On HBO’s Silicon Valley, the young actor played a small role as a founder of a company called Bro 2 Bro.
Essentially, the app would only text other “bros.”
