Fans Have 3 Cryptic Explanations For What Happened To This Character That We Haven’t Seen In A While

Fans haven’t seen Heath on The Walking Dead since “Swear,” which was the critic-shamed episode that centered on Tara and Oceanside. On the bridge, Heath disappeared after Tara escaped the sand-walker attack.

While it doesn’t seem like The Walking Dead will kill off Heath as he was in another 50 issues of the comic, there are a few reasons why we may or may not see Heath anytime soon.

So, why is Heath gone for good?

No One Cares that Heath is Missing

Tara returned with her sunglasses but no one has even mentioned that Heath is missing. There is a Lost in Translation-like scene where the audience doesn’t hear what Tara and Eugene are saying upon her return, but no one seems concerned that Heath is missing from Alexandria. Kind of odd, right?

There has been a lot going on, but this really falls on Tara. She discovers about Glenn and Abraham deaths, but she’s yet to try and organize a search party or even discuss Heath’s disappearance since the mysterious “PPP” note.

The Show Teased at His Death

Much like Glenn’s fake dumpster death, Tara thought she found Heath, but it turned out to be a female walker who had similar dreads. Glenn’s fake dumpster death was a foreshadowing save that led to a later death.

Since the show also hinted at the eventual death of Heath, it’s possible he may show up later as a walker. Since Heath was only in one episode this season and since no one seems to care that he’s gone, he may show up later on Negan’s fence or pop up the way Carol’s daughter did on the farm, as a walker.

Corey Hawkins is Getting Too Famous

Since the success of Straight Outta Compton, Corey Hawkins has been getting some major offers. He’s not necessarily too successful for the show, but he might just be too busy to balance out the show, which is filmed in Georgia while his other projects are filmed elsewhere.

Corey Hawkins is set to star in 24: Legacy on Fox, which is the reboot for the Keifer Sutherland series. Not only will he be starring in the 13-episode series, but he’s also lined up for Kong: Skull Island. In the new King Kong film, he’s co-starring alongside Tom Hiddleston, Samuel L. Jackson, John Goodman, and John C. Reily.

Do you think Corey Hawkins is too busy to return as Heath?
