Some Fans Can’t Tell Fact From Fiction
Some fans can’t separate the facts from the fiction. On AMC’s Breaking Bad, for example, the actress who played Skyler White actually received death threats for her portrayal of a character. Now, one Walking Dead star is getting the same threats.
Josh McDermitt, who stars as Dr. Eugene Porter, has just dropped his Instagram and Twitter accounts due to the various negative comments pouring in. The former comedian was very active with fans, so this is daunting to those who followed.
Evidently, McDermitt had had enough with the negative comments.
Dr. Eugene Porter first hit the series back in Season 4, during the episode entitled, “Inmates.” Eugene arrived with Rosita (Christian Serratos) and Abraham (Michael Cudlitz), as a group headed to Washington, D.C.
At the time, Abraham and Rosita were convinced that Eugene had the cure for the zombie virus and they were there to escort him to the capital. This, of course, turned out to be a lie made up by a coward.
Now, however, fans are suddenly surprised Eugene has joined sides with Negan.
“Don’t Be An A**hole…”
Eugene didn’t simply leave the group, seeing as Negan forced him to do so, which was actually Rosita’s fault. Regardless, fans see this betrayal as a way to lash out at the actor who plays Eugene.
After a series of threats and complaints, McDermitt wrote, “Death threats, don’t send me deaths threats, because I will report all that sh*t to the cops. I’m just sick of it. you can hate Eugene, I don’t care. You can think whatever you want but when you start saying I hope I die, I don’t know if you’re talking about Josh or Eugene. I gotta report that sh*t, so, just don’t be an a**hole. And just stop complaining about everything on the Internet. Just go spend time with your family or friends or loved ones. Just get off the Internet.”
For the fans who stood up for Josh/Eugene, he did write, “I love you guys.”
