When viewers of The Walking Dead were introduced to Georgie, it seemed like the first introduction of the Commonwealth. In Robert Kirkman’s comic book by the same name, the current issues have introduced a New World Order. Unlike when Negan uttered the phrase in Season 6, things are actually about to change.

In the past, fans of The Walking Dead have complained about the revolving door storyline. Basically, Rick Grimes and company walk until they find a new safe house but then a villain comes to take over that community or location. But with the Commonwealth, that’s not going to be a possibility.

The New World Order involves a stadium full of 50,000 people. This means that instead of a new world or battle, the next fight will likely be a political fight. The new story will be a populist uprising rather than Carltopia.
