A few episodes back, audiences got to see Andrew Lincoln fight a handful of walkers in his boxers. Other than the fact that he’s been wearing the same undies since the pilot, fans enjoyed the comical action scene. Bu, Lincoln actually wanted to shoot this scene nude for AMC’s The Walking Dead.
“I got to wrestle in boxer shorts all day. It was a really fun fight,” Lincoln said. “I was desperate to be naked. But they wouldn’t let me be naked! I said, ‘One take,’ I said, ‘Please, with just the cowboy boots. Let’s do that.’ And for some reason, AMC weren’t completely comfortable.”
Despite their hesitation for this scene, new reports indicate there will be a “fully nude” character on The Walking Dead. But it’s not Grimes. It’s a walker.
Walking Dead Shows Off First Nude Walker
The walkers on The Walking Dead have bitten, eaten, or attacked our heroes for eight seasons now but they’ve done so covered up. Director and special effects expert said that’s about to change.
“There’s an episode where we did our first fully nude walker,” said Nicotero. “We’ve never done that before.” The series has been known to push the envelope, but this is a first for the cable television series.
The director couldn’t give any more details but fans will likely recognize the nude walker, whenever he or she arrives on the small screen.
A Challenge For HBO’s Game Of Thrones
In addition to the new idea, the show also challenged Game of Thrones. The HBO series is often compared to The Walking Dead, specifically with the white-walkers and the walkers, since both are technically zombies.
“The rumors are true,” posted AMC. “The Walking Dead is adding a fully-nude walker this season. Your move, Game of Thrones…” Currently, the HBO series is on a long hiatus, but they’ve had their fair share of nudity.
Presumably, the nude walker on AMC will still be hidden in some way or possible only seen from the backside. Otherwise, the walker would need to be burned to keep from having issues with the FCC.
