Look What Scott Gimple Just Revealed About Maggie Greene…
“She’s strategic and emotional at the same time. She’s really angry about how it all went down, but she has the where-with-all to hold on to that anger,” said Scott Gimple about Maggie Greene.
“She plays something out in her head pretty quickly. Why she needs that box and what message she is going to send. She’s out of the car and directly to the [prison] in a moment,” said the showrunner.
She had a very good idea of what she was going to do and Dean was the unlucky winner,” he added.
Who Is Maggie Greene Going To Become?
Over the years, there have been many sides to Maggie Greene. As a daughter, she tried to respect the wishes of her father, Hershel. As a wife, she worked with Glenn Rhee to make the best world they could make together.
Now, she’s living as the leader of Hilltop, a widow and mother-to-be. Like Rick Grimes, all of her decisions are being made to consider the future. But, now she has made a decision that is more like Negan and less like Glenn Rhee.
She executed the right person in the wrong way in order to avenge one of her own. This is exactly what Negan would have done.
An Uncertain Future After The War
In this new world, the leaders are trying to figure out what is right and what is wrong. Most of Season 8 is built around a conversation between Tara and Jesus, in terms of what to do with the prisoners.
In fact, Daryl Dixon and Rick Grimes literally fight over the fate of the “innocent” and those who surrender. Both men believe things so passionately that they have a physical altercation to do things their way.
Now, Maggie Greene has taken things a step further. While she seemed to be debating all of the facts, she’s now taking action. Rather than argue with Jesus over semantics, she decided to go ahead and execute a prisoner.
Since she pulled the trigger herself, she’s letting everyone know that she’s tired of playing games. One way or another, she’s willing to do whatever it takes to win the war. This is often the difference in winners and losers, good and evil…
