Here’s Why You Should Follow Daryl Dixon’s Trend Of Turning To Violence

“We can use these now,” said Daryl, dynamite in hand. After chasing down and killing two Saviors, Rick Grimes and Daryl Dixon now have dynamite and machine guns. But this is also when the two discover they no longer see eye-to-eye.

“We know what we gotta do,” said Daryl Dixon. “We blow open the Sanctuary [and] let the walkers flood in. They’ll surrender. It’ll be done.” What Daryl doesn’t know is that Rick’s position has been slowly changing the past few episodes.

Thanks to Baby Gracie and Morales, Rick Grimes is no longer thinking “kill them all.”

While Daryl Dixon was being held prisoner at the Sanctuary, it was clear that he was not going to break. What did happen was that a switch turned on.

In Daryl Dixon’s mind, every Savior needs to die. Like when he killed Fat Joey in front of Jesus, Daryl is thinking that there is no “getting by” here.

Because Daryl’s plan involves potentially killing the workers, Rick Grimes knows he has to stop him.

“We could end this by sundown,” said Daryl. Despite the fact that there are workers and families inside, he sticks to his guns. This is the first time since Season 1 where we’ve seen Daryl defy Rick Grimes.

Next to the sideways truck, we’re now reminded of Daryl’s interaction with Richard last season. This time, when Rick tells Daryl not to move forward with this plan, he also turns to violence.

“Nah, you ain’t doing this,” clarified Daryl Dixon as he gave his brother a shove. Rick peacefully turned Daryl back around and reminded him to stick to the plan. “Things change man. Negan and that other group, this is on them.”

The next time Rick stops Daryl, our hero turns with a fist. In an instant, he knocks Rick on the ground. During their scuffle, Rick tosses the dynamite back on the truck. But a fire breaks out, which causes both men to stop the fight and run for cover.

“Chokehold is illegal, asshole,” said Rick Grimes. Still upset about Daryl’s actions, Rick decides to walk back. Daryl is adamant that the illegal move was necessary. Unfortunately, they lost the guns and the dynamite.

Do you think these two will settle their differences by the next episode?
