“I remember when Rick and Daryl are chasing Yago and Andy is doing his Indiana Jones from one car to another,” began actor Norman Reedus. In an episode of Talking Dead, Reedus and Andrew Lincoln joked about their car chase.
“I’m following him on the bike and he’s got to do this thing [hand gestures vehicle movement]. I keep saying, “Andy, stop hitting the brakes or I’m going to run into the back of the jeep.’ He’s like, ‘I’m not hitting the brakes. I would never hit the brakes.,” said Reedus.
“So I almost ended up a bumper sticker like 4-5 times because he’s English and he doesn’t know how to drive properly in America,” concluded the actor best known as Daryl Dixon.
Andrew Lincoln Clears Up Norman Reedus Story
“Any pain that the guy has sustained in his eight years of being on the show is his own making,” said Andrew Lincoln. “I’m remarkably coordinated, incredibly athletic… I’m used to driving on the left hand side of the road—that is a fair point—but I’m very safe. I’m a safe driver.”
Over the years, Norman Reedus and Andrew Lincoln have become the best of friends. Through that friendship, audiences get a chance to laugh at their constant ridiculing remarks, unbelievable pranks, and heavy opinions.
Either way, this shot made for one of the more memorable action sequences of the entire season.
Real Problems Occur After The Car Chase
After Rick Grimes and Daryl Dixon finally caught up with Yago, they asked the dying man for more information. In Season 8, it seems like any Savior that crosses Daryl is going to end up dead.
In the car chase, Daryl killed one Savior on the back of the lead car. Then, Rick caught up with Yago and jumped into his vehicle. The car ended up rolling over, but not before Rick got the best of Yago.
The real problem occurred when Rick and Daryl found dynamite in the vehicle. In addition to the machine guns, Daryl quickly concluded they could blow a hole in the Sanctuary and “win the war tonight.”
Rick Grimes knew this could cost some innocent people their lives, so he stopped Daryl through force. In the actual fight, Daryl won but an accidental fire made Rick’s reasoning win the actual battle.
