Jeffrey Dean Morgan Gears Up For Indy 500

Jeffrey Dean Morgan seems to be everywhere since being casts as Negan on The Walking Dead. Not only was his character in a Superbowl commercial last year, but Morgan is in The Rock’s new flick Rampage and he’s gearing up for the Indy 500.

When he’s not playing the baddest of the bad guys, he’s been known to Ride with Norman Reedus. In addition, he’s going to be in the celebrity pace car for Sunday’s Indianapolis 500 in 2017.

Morgan will drive a 2017 Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport to lead the pack.

Negan Actor Prepares For The Main Event

USA Today reports:

“Jeffrey Dean Morgan, known as charismatic bully Negan on AMC series The Walking Dead, will drive a 2017 Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport to lead the starting field to the green flag of the race’s 101st running.”

“Morgan’s Walking Dead role, in which he carries a baseball bat wrapped in barbed wire nicknamed “Lucille,” won the Seattle native a Critics’ Choice Television Award and an MTV Movie & TV Award.”

“He’s used to playing the ultimate villain in The Walking Dead, but he’ll be an envied hero to millions of race fans around the world,” Indianapolis Motor Speedway President Doug Boles said in a statement.”

Other Big Celebrities To Look For…

Other celebrities involved with the big event include the unveiling of Indy 500 roles for actor Jake Gyllenhaal and a survivor from the Boston Marathon named Jeff Bauman, who will be honorary starters.

Bebe Rexha will sing “The Star-Spangled Banner” and Jim Cornelison will sing “Back Home Again in Indiana, plus pro wrestler Ric Flair will be there to partake in the master of ceremonies at the Indy 500 Snake Pit.

The front runners for the event are Scott Dixon from Chip Ganassi Racing, Ed Carpenter from Ed Carpenter Racing, and Alexander Rossi from Andretti Herta Autosport.
