“The Damned” begins and ends with a few close-ups of our favorite The Walking Dead characters. When the episode comes on, it’s unclear why everyone looks upset since they should be winning. However, there is one major Morales twist that reveals why Rick Grimes is so angry.
During the various attacks, we see our favorite characters hitting a wall. Morgan can’t decide if he should kill everyone. Daryl is upset after finding a prison cell like the one he had. Then, Morgan kills a man who is potentially a father.
The biggest twist, however, happens when another mans pulls a gun on Rick Grimes.
Morales Arrives, Shocks TWD Season 1 Fans
Covered in sweat and blood, Rick turns to find a familiar face. The man, who stands behind a gun, is Morales back from the first season. “Hi Rick,” he said, realizing the coincidence in front of him.
In shock, Rick Grimes said, “Your name is Morales. You were in Atlanta,” he confirmed. Rather than taking down his gun, the man continues to hold his aim, no longer the friend Rick Grimes once knew.
“That was a long time ago,” said Morales.
Where Is Daryl Dixon, When Morales…?
“It’s over Rick. I called the Saviors back,” said Morales while holding up a walkie-talkie. “And they’re coming.” Judging by Rick’s face, these finals three words appear to be the nail in the coffin.
He’s tired, and this man who used to be his friend got the drop on him. At this point, it’s also possible that Rick is questioning everything he once knew. If someone who is good can turn evil, has he gone too far to the dark side?
Based on the fact that he just killed another man who has a small child, it’s possible that Rick Grimes’ mental state is too weak even to fight back. The only real hope at this point is that Daryl Dixon hears what’s going on and backs up his friend.
Daryl Dixon is currently elsewhere in the same building. It’s strange that he didn’t hear Rick’s gun when he was first attacked.
Were you surprised that Daryl arrived in time to save Rick?
